Flor Blanca Hotel

Introduction

This is one incredible hotel. Very luxurious and earthy, but also a destination for world-class surf. 'Out-the-door' surfing; carry your board to the beach, go left or right, and you're there. The hotel can take care of surfing needs like board rentals, too.

Opened in June 2002, occupies a 7 acres of beachfront on the remote southern coast of Costa Rica's Nicoya peninsula.

There are ten villas (three of which have two stories) set in gardens fashioned from the tropical forest, accessed by winding pathways of soft-edged flat pebbles - ideal for skimming over a millpond, but not over the surfer (but not child) friendly waves that break on the beach. Each villa is a self-contained unit of about 1000sq feet with lounge area (with kitchenette) and open balcony, alfresco bathroom in enclosed garden, and bedroom.

The designers have borrowed liberally from the Near East and the Orient - curves are favored over angles, pastels over vibrant colors, unvarnished brick and terra cotta over tiled floors. This hotel is the perfect combination of first class luxury in harmony with nature. There is not a better place in the world to enjoy a honeymoon or a romantic getaway, (with world class surf out the front door!)
